We're here to help alleviate the back-to-school financial burden by providing essential supplies to students in our community. 

At Rockingham Insurance, community support is more than a commitment; it’s a core value that drives our actions. We are thrilled to share the announcement of our recent agency partnership with LD&B Insurance Services in support of United Way’s Tools for School initiative to provide back-to-school supplies for local students.

A Partnership for Progress

Throughout July and August, we joined hands with LD&B Insurance Services to support education in the Shenandoah Valley. As two of the leading supporters in our community, we were united in our mission to provide essential school supplies to students in need.

We set up collection points at all our agency locations to receive school supplies, and the response was overwhelming, reflecting the generosity and compassion of our community! 

The Cost of School Supplies

The average cost of back-to-school supplies for one child is $597 (K-12 average), according to Capital One’s Shopping Research. This significant expense can be a burden for many families, especially those with multiple children.

We aimed to alleviate this burden by providing essential supplies to students in our community. 

Distributing Hope and Support

Once the drive was finalized, the United Way team collected the donated supplies and distributed them to the families at a community event at the Valley Mall in Harrisonburg.

The joy and gratitude on the faces of the students and their families were a testament to the difference that community support can make. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participating local agent locations representing Rockingham Insurance, including:

The Tools for School partnership with our new agency partner, LD&B Insurance Services, was also supported by a joint donation for the initiative. This joint effort amplified the impact of individual contributions, ensuring that more students would have the back-to-school supplies they need to succeed in the upcoming school year. We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated. Your generosity provided essential school supplies and instilled hope and confidence in the students of our community.
